The Current Syllabus is grouped as follows: Group A contains content for ages 3 to 5; Group B contains contents for ages 6 to 8; Group C contains content for ages 9 to 11 while Group D and E contains content for ages 12 to 16.

The current syllabus  follows:

GROUP A

AGE 3    

CREATION    
The child will be able to demonstrate understanding of Allah the Creator by knowing that:

•    Allah is the Creator of the sun and the moon;
•    Knowing Allah has created time and the cycle of day and night.
•    Allah has created everyone, including mom, dad and siblings.
•    The sun rises and sets so that we have day and night. The heat from the sun is vital for survival.
•    The time of day is measured by the movement of the sun.
•    Highlight the difference between day and night with emphasis on activities, light and dark, work / play and rest.
•    The moon provides light at night.
•    Sighting the new moon means a new month.
•    Focus on the phases of the moon.
•    Drawing the sight the moon. Compare and elaborate by means of discussion.
•    The role and function of parents as providers and caregivers.
•    Love and respect for them and cooperation instead of tantrums and demands.
•    The need to love, care, share, cooperate with and understand siblings.


OUR WORLD    
The child will show a basic understanding of some of the other living beings of the world:
•    birds such as budgies, canaries and pigeons and chickens.     
 Birds
•    Birds as families.
•    General characteristics, habitat, laying and hatching of eggs and eating habits.
•    Wild birds such as vultures.
•    Cats: characteristics, clean living / sleeping area, care, kittens.
•    Abu Huraira as the ‘father of the cats’ - the ‘kitten man’.
•    Goldfish: characteristics, fish tank or bowl, care and beauty to enjoy.


PEOPLE    
The child will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of people around them by exploring and discussing personal experiences.
The child will retell and / or draw personal experiences with others close to them.
The child will discuss personal experiences in familiar places like at home and at school or park.
The child talk about how some children – without naming – misbehaves and why it is not good.

•    Usual activities of families such as visiting the library, going on a picnic, holidays, visiting relatives going on drives.
•    Responsibilities and actions of people to care for the town and to keep clean public places such as fireman, policemen, doctors, dustman.
•    Drawing activities illustrating togetherness of child with brother, sister, baby.
•    Favourite place at home or in the classroom e.g. the fantasy corner enables the child to pretend to be someone else.



HEALTH    
The child will understand the responsibility to taking care of itself by:
•    Knowing their own body and knowing how to keep it clean.
•    Moving around with care and using space safely.
•    Knowing and naming parts of the body created by Allah.
•    Knowing the functions of the body parts.
•    Focus on the cleanliness of the body. The use of clean water for the purpose of cleanliness.
•    Try to invent new games instead of TV or using Playstations.
•    Safety in movement by taking care not to be play near dangerous objects.


SCIENCE    

The child will understand and appreciate the value of water in our world.
Different fruits – where fruits come from; trees, bushes etc. and how they grow.
•    Who needs water and why.
•    Water and its uses.
•    Where water comes from, how, when, where.
•    Using water sparingly and learning not to waste it.
•    Help a plant to grow and draw what you observe.


CONDUCT    
Good conduct is the key to success.    
The child will learn that good manners means:
•    Being considerate towards others; (parents, friends)
•    Doing right and learning what we are told is wrong
•    Avoid fighting with others
•    Taking turns when playing together.
